Dorothy R. Mills

Dorothy R. "Dottie" Mills, 67 of Hebron passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Easton. She was born in Cambridge on October 19, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Millard and Pearl Young Reed.

Mrs. Mills graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1959. On September 3, 1961 she married Walt P. Mills III. She and her husband were poultry growers for Perdue for thirteen years and sold Avon for ten years. Some of her hobbies were gardening, dancing, going to the movies and traveling. Mrs. Mills was a member of the Delmarva Poultry Industry, a past member of the Cambridge Lodge # 1272 B.P.O.E. Elks, the Cambridge Moose Lodge, Cambridge Little League Ladies Auxiliary, Cambridge South Dorchester Band Boosters and Friendship United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband Walt Mills III of Hebron, three children Katherine Mills Willoughby of Hebron, Gary Walter Mills and wife Terri Cheeseman Mills of Cambridge and Vicky Lynn Hurley and husband Jeff of Milton, DE, a stepdaughter Donna Lynn Neal and husband Warren of Myrtle Beach SC, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
