Robert J. Cole

Robert J. Cole, 71, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born in Pensacola, FL on February 16, 1952 and was a son of the late Robert and Bernice Matthews Cole.

Mr. Cole graduated from Warwick Tech with his RN Degree. He worked for 30 years for the Eastern Shore State Hospital in Cambridge as a Charge Nurse. He was known by his quick wit and smart remarks and raiding the vending machines at work. Mr. Cole was married to the former Barbara Wheatley.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Cole, two sons Chris Cole (Stacey) and Zach Cole (Katie), two granddaughters Elise and Victoria Cole, a sister Mary Mostrom (Karen), his best friend Donnie Foglesonger and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Cole is preceded in death by a brother Tim Cole and a sister Shelia Rosenberg.

Per his request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
