Alton Eugene "Gene" Windsor, 79, of Madison passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born in Crocheron on June 22, 1932 and was a son of the late Austin and Eulalia Murphy Windsor.
He attended school in Crocheron. On August 18, 1972 he married the former May King. She passed away on March 25, 2011. He was a self employed waterman.
He is survived by three brothers Crawford Windsor and wife Mary Lou of Crocheron, Wayne Windsor and wife Sally of Crapo and Vaughn Windsor and wife Ann Marie of Toddville and a sister Cleta Pritchett of Crocheron, two sisters in law Faye Willey of Madison and Kay Parks of Madison, a brother in law Ray King of Cambridge and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Windsor is preceded in death by a brother Calvin H. Windsor. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Windsor, Steven Windsor, Wayne Windsor, Jr., Lane Windsor, Larry Windsor and Ronnie Pritchett. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Todd, Johnny Holotik, Tommy Holotik, Robert Holotik and Jack Hailey.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P. A. in Cambridge with Rev. George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association, Eastern Shore Chapter, 909 Progress Circle Ste. 400, Salisbury, MD 21804.
