Albert C. Ellis, Jr., 82, of Cambridge passed away on March 20, 2010 at his niece's home in Odenton, MD. He was born on March 22, 1927 at Baltimore and was a son of the late Albert C. Ellis, Sr. and Agnes Watts Ellis.
He attended and graduated from Baltimore City Public Schools. He served in the United States Navy for two terms during WW II and the Korean War. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. On July 5, 1953 he married the former Joycelyn Baier. Mrs. Ellis passed away on June 4, 2001. He worked as a butcher and also a meat cutter. He was a member of Composite Lodge No 212 A.F. & A.M., Boumi Shriner's and he had been active in the Motor Corps, and had been President of the Motor Corps. He was also a member the Eastern Shore Shrine Club.
He is survived by a daughter Denise Albright of Baltimore, three sons T.R. Ellis of Hudson, Jacob Ellis of Middlesex and Alex Ellis of Middlesex, five grandchildren, two sisters Doris Ketland of Williamsport, MD and Naomi John of Glen Rock, PA and Eva Watts, a beloved friend and companion. In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by a son Jonathan Ellis.
A graveside Masonic Service will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Old Whitemarsh Cemetery near Trappe. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
