Alice Ann Palmer Robbins, 86, of Cambridge, passed away on December 20, 2011 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 12, 1925 in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Emmett R. Palmer and Edith M. Harris Palmer.

She was a devoted homemaker and she spent her life caring for her family. She operated her own catering business for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and taking care of her many grandchildren.

She married the late Paul Richard Robbins on September 28, 1946 and they made their home on the family farm.

She was a lifelong member of Antioch United Methodist Church where she never missed a Sunday until her health starting failing last month.

She is survived by her four children; Edwina Sipler (Oscar), Thomas Robbins (Rosemary), Kathleen Rineholt (David), and Caroline Marshall (Tim). She is also survived by ten grandchildren; Clark, Alison and Rachel Sipler, Thomas, Jr., Marian and Michelle Robbins, Paul and Anna Rineholt, and Emmett and Garrett Marshall and five great-grandchildren; Josie and Rebekah Sipler, Martin and Theodore White, and Will Robbins. There are also a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paul with whom she was married for 46 years and her brother Thomas Palmer.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church with Pastor Pam Bockart and Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Churchyard. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. The family requests memorial contributions can be made to Antioch United Methodist Church, c/o Susan Meredith, 2073 Dailsville Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Pallbearers will be Clark Sipler, Thomas Robbins, Jr. Paul Rineholt, Emmett Marshall, Garrett Marshall, Victor White, and Sean Boyd.
