Allan S. Baynard, Sr., 77, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 UMSMC at Easton. He was born in Easton on May 12, 1936 to Virginia Dulin Baynard and the late Medford Baynard.
He graduated from Easton High School class of 1954. Mr. Baynard joined the United States Army after graduation from which he retired in 1976. After the military, he retired from Airpax where he worked as a punch press operator. Allan enjoyed barbequing and watching football and baseball. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #91 and the VFW Post #7460.
Mr. Baynard is survived by two sons Allan S. Baynard, Jr. and wife Linda of Cambridge and John Baynard of Cambridge, one granddaughter Savannah Baynard of Cambridge, a step grandson Robert Rhea and wife Christen of Florida, four step great grandchildren, two step great great grandchildren, a brother James "Matt" Baynard and wife Wanda of Easton, his mother Virginia Baynard and many nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he is preceded in death by a brother Harold "Randy" Baynard.
Pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Post #91.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Chapel. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
