Allen Price Todd, Sr.

Allen Price Todd, 75, of Cambridge, MD and Estero FL passed away on August 10, 2016 at his home with his  wife by his side.  Mr. Todd was born on October 15, 1940 in Cambridge, son of the late Calvin Price Todd and Lenora Marie Creighton Todd. Allen attended schools in Cambridge, and received a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from  the  University  of  MD  in  1965 and was subsequently  awarded a Professional Engineer license.   He  worked  for  31 years in various management positions at Dominion  Resources, the  power  utility in Virginia.   After retiring, he then worked as  the  Director  of  Utilities  in  Manassas,  Virginia for  9  years, during which time he was awarded Innovator of the Year by the American Public Power Association and has enjoyed his retirement while working with Downes Associates as a Utility Consultant.  He wedded the former Martha Lee Meredith, on June 13, 1964.  Allen was an active member of the Pine Steppers Square Dance Club as well as Community Church of Ocean Pines and Estero United Methodist Church.  Todd, as he was known by his family and friends enjoyed sailing, fishing, playing golf or simply walking the “Boards” in Ocean City. He loved and lived his life fully.  He also had an adventuresome spirit taking yearly cruises and other travels with his wife. He will be remembered as a generous and caring man who had an ability to make friends wherever he went and could always be counted on by others for any need.  Mr. Todd is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha Meredith Todd, his children; Allen Todd, Jr., and wife  Petra,  Susan  Forrest  and  husband  Craig,  David  Todd  and  wife  Kristin,  two  grandchildren  Bennett Todd and Louisa Todd, his sister Donna Sineath, and extended family, in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will  be  held  at Community Church of Ocean Pines on September 10, 2016 at 3 PM.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.   In  lieu  of  flowers,  memorial  contributions  can  be  made  to  the  Pines  Steppers  Square  Dance Club at  39 Quarter Staff Place, Ocean Pines 21811 or  Coastal Hospice Foundation at P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
