Anna F. Jones, 82, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Vienna on February 12, 1933 to the late Joseph and Mildred Lloyd Travers.
Mrs. Jones attended schools in Vienna. She worked as a seamstress for several sewing factories over 42 years, later working for I.F. Cannon, Clayton’s Seafood and most recently the Cambridge Diner since 2007. Anna married the late Clarence M. Jones, and made their home in Wingate, until he passed in 1991. Mrs. Jones at the age of 71 for the first time rode on the back of her nephews Harley Davidson motorcycle. She also starred in a local film festival movie called Bloodsworth by Adrian Muys. Anna loved to spend time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter Betty Lowe Willey and her husband Wallace “W.R.” of Cambridge, one granddaughter Ashley Nicole Willey of Cambridge, a step son Ronald M. Jones, her first husband Linwood D. Lowe of Sharptown, two special nephews Robert Lowe and James “Jimmy” Travers and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her second husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Ellwood Travers and Franklin Travers.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Chesapeake Woods Activity Center, 525 Glenburn Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
