Austin Ryan Dixon, 18 of Finchville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday September 21, 2010. He was born in Cambridge on March 4, 1992, and was a son of Paul Thomas and Brenda Lee Rogers Dixon, Jr.
Austin had attended elementary school in Hurlock and also attended North Dorchester Middle School. He was currently a senior at North Dorchester High School where he was a member of the Chorus and loved wrestling, environmental science and tennis. Austin was a member of the Eldorado-Brookview Fire Co. following a family tradition, and had worked as the gatekeeper at the Haunted Forest the fire company had operated for several years.
Survivors include his mother and father Brenda Lee Dixon and Paul Thomas Dixon, Jr. of Finchville, two brothers Paul T. Dixon III of Finchville and Jamie Dixon and his wife Heather and their son Maddox Dixon of Preston. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Pauline and Walter Rogers of Pasadena, paternal grandparents Ursula and Paul Dixon, Sr. of Hurlock, great grandmother Erika Riedel of Kaiserslautern, Germany as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins here as well as in Germany.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM at North Dorchester High School. Interment will follow at the Dixon Family Cemetery at Lakesville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Friday evening at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Pallbearers will be Garvin Gounraj, Duane Demby, Jamie Booze, Paul Dixon III, Christopher Dixon and Daniel Hoffer. Kyle Glime will serve as an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Eldorado Brookview Fire Co., 5752 Rhodesdale-Eldorado Rd. Rhodesdale, MD 21659 or to the North Dorchester High School Chorus, 5875 Cloverdale Road, Hurlock, MD 21643.
