Barbara A. Stewart

Barbara A. Stewart, 75, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at her home. She was born in Easton on September 16, 1948 and was a daughter of the late Richard and Hilda Phillips Ratcliffe.

 

Mrs. Stewart attended schools at North Dorchester. On November 17, 1979, she married Calvert Stewart. Mrs. Stewart worked at CVS for 23 years. She enjoyed word searches.  

 

She is survived by her husband Calvert Stewart, two daughters Barbara Cheesman (Ken) and Brenda Meritt (Stephen Lewis), five grandchildren Arcadia Lopez-Sullivan, Jessica Cheesman, John Moody, Jr., Herbie Calahan III and Sarah Morse, eight great grandchildren Chloe Morse, Everly Morse, Dylan Moody, Herbie Calahan IV, Damien Jester, Holden Moody, Kayden Calahan and Kara Calahan, a sister Marie Vogel and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Stewart is preceded in death by three brothers Richard Ratcliffe, Jr., Anthony "Tony" Ratcliffe and Donald Ratcliffe and a sister Joyce Merritt.

 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 1pm at East New Market Cemetery with Rev. Bill Thomas officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
