Barbara N. Lomax, 76, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at The Pines in Easton. She was born in Cambridge on August 8, 1938 and was a daughter of the late Charles S. and Helen McCall Newton.
She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1956. On July 8, 1956, she married James P. Lomax, Sr., who passed away on August 15, 2006. Mrs. Lomax had worked for Sheets Flower Shop for 40 years. She enjoyed crabbing, fishing and the outdoors. Mrs. Lomax was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of the American Legion Post 91.
She is survived by two daughters Bobbi Sue Swann and husband Dutch of Cambridge and Linda Lomax Morris and fiancAC.e Randy Adona of Upper Marlboro, a son James "Mickey" Lomax, Jr. and wife Valerie of Rhodesdale, four grandchildren Ryan Swann and wife Jina of South Carolina, Lindsay Morris of Glen Burnie, Amber Aaron of East New Market and James Nickey Lomax of Rhodesdale, three great grandchildren Ryan M. Swann, Alexis J. Swann and Christopher Chrivia all of South Carolina, a sister Doris Insley of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Lomax is preceded in death by a sister Linda Rosemere and a nephew James E. Insley.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Sumner Jones officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803.
