Barbara Faye Webster (Webster) Collins

Barbara Faye Webster Collins, 85, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Cambridge on August 10, 1931 and was a daughter of the late Cecil G. Webster and Carrie Lyons Webster.

She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1948. Mrs. Collins received her Bachelors of Science in Education in 1952 from Salisbury State Teachers College. In 1976, she received her Master of Arts in Education from George Washington University. On August 22, 1953, she married Maurice M. Collins, who passed away on December 21, 2003. From 1953 to 1971, Mrs. Collins was an elementary teacher, from 1971 to 1989, she was vice principal/principal in Dorchester County, including principal of Summer Migrant Program ages birth through adult. In 1994 to 2003, she was at Salisbury State University as a supervisor of teachers interns and from 2000 to 2001, Mrs. Collins was a professional development school Liaison with Choptank Elementary School and Salisbury State University, includes supervising four teacher interns and conducting a seminar ELED 411.

Mrs. Collins enjoyed reading and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Dorchester Center of the Arts, Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary, Dorchester County Retired Teachers Association and Maryland Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by her son William Michael Collins and wife Gail of Cambridge and a daughter Patricia Collins Morgan of Salisbury, five grandchildren Kate Glover Price and husband Dean, Jake Glover and wife Heather, Will Morgan IV, Megan Collins Daniels and husband Ryan and Jodi Windsor Kindt and husband Doug, and eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jake Glover, Ryan Daniels, Dean Price, Will Morgan IV, Doug Kindt and John Burtman.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 12:30 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. William Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
