Bernice Robinson
August 18, 1921 — July 15, 2013
Bernice Robinson, 91, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Smyrna, TN on August 18, 1921 and was a daughter of the late Ollie and Flossie Smart Batey.
Bernice graduated from Smyrna High School in Smyrna, TN. On May 14, 1944 she married Lawrence "Sparky" Robinson, who passed way on June 1, 2011. She also attended nursing school where she received her LPN. In 1961, she started working at the Eastern Shore State Hospital and she retired in 1983. She was a member of MCEA and the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother Alton Batey and several sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 1p.m. at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Steve Trice officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
