Betty L. Insley, 67 of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Church Creek on May 27, 1941 and was a daughter of the late Walter R. and Maud Abbott Aaron.

Mrs. Insley attended schools in Dorchester County. On January 4, 1964 she married Carl C. Insley. She was a seamstress for 15 years at Rob Roy and then she worked on the water with her husband. Mrs. Insley enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her husband Carl Insley of Madison, a son Gene Aaron of Hurlock, two brothers Robert L. Aaron of East New Market and Walter G. Aaron of Cambridge, a sister Dorothy Aaron of Hoopers Island, an aunt, an uncle, several nieces, nephews and sister in laws. Besides her parents, Mrs. Insley is preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ann Bright and a brother William R. Aaron.
Pallbearers will be Ben Bright, Turtle North, Freddie Spedden, Charles Moore, Howard "Boy" Frazier and Sammy Horseman. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Vincent.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Old Trinity Churchyard with Pastor Dave Stewart officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
