Betty Jean "BJ" (Baker) Johnstone

Betty Jean "BJ" Johnstone, 66, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Candle Light Cove in Easton. She was born in Berlin, MD on June 1, 1951 and was a daughter of the late Charles and Alice Graber Baker.

Mrs. Johnstone graduated from Stephen Decatur High School class of 1969. On August 24, 1979, she married John C. Johnstone, who passed away on February 24, 1991. Mrs. Johnstone was employed at one time at Dorchester General Hospital for 25 years and with Craig's Drug Store since 2001. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church since the 1970's in Cambridge, where she served as a Vestry Member and Eucharistic Minister.

She is survived by two sons Michael Ian Johnstone of Washington, DC and Andrew David Johnstone of London, sisters Rachel Hewett, Sue Taylor, Della Stovak and many loved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Johnstone is preceded in death by two sisters Kit Chamberlain, and Edie Wilkins, two brothers Frank Baker and Buddy Baker.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11 am at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Bernie Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow at the Christ Churchyard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
