Beverly W. Holley of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at her home. She was 81. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Beverly was born on July 5, 1928 in Cambridge, the oldest of six children, to the late Raymond D. Willey and Elvia Robbins Willey.
She attended school in Cambridge and was a 1945 graduate of Cambridge High School. On September 2, 1948 she was married to Donald "Joe" Holley. They were married for 57 years. Joe passed away on November 14, 2005. Beverly worked 28 years for Coastal Foods. She later worked 17 years for the State of Maryland, retiring from Dorchester County Social Services in 1990. She attended the Cambridge Church of the Nazarene for over 44 years.
Beverly is survived by a daughter, Donna Reed and husband Phil of Cambridge, a grandson Matthew P. Reed and a granddaughter Ashley M. Reed both of Columbia, four brothers Raymond D. Willey, Jr. and wife Betty, Wayne Willey, Gary Willey and wife Janet and Robert Willey and wife Bonnie all of Cambridge, sister-in-law Patricia Holley Grassett and husband David of Seaford, DE and several nieces and nephews. Beside her parents and her husband, Beverly is preceded in death by a sister Patricia Willey Rue Cuthbertson.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 1p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Richard Prahl and Rev. Sharon Prahl officiating. Burial will take place at a later time at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and 12 to 1p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Matthew Reed, Ashley Reed, Chris Ziomek, Robert J. Willey, Gary Willey, Wayne Willey, David Grassett and Tim Reed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Beverly, to the Cambridge Church of the Nazarene, 97 Sandy Hill Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
