Bobby J. Green, 74 of Secretary, passed away at his home on Tuesday August 26, 2008. He was born at Lenoir, North Carolina on June 25, 1934, and was a son of the late Arthur J. and Lucille C. Bush Green.
Bobby attended schools in Baltimore and Virginia. On September 26, 1957 he was married to the former Mary Jeanette Brinsfield of Vienna. For a brief time he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon receiving a medical discharge from the Marines he worked at several saw mills in the area. Bobby also managed several service stations in Cambridge and also worked at the Maryland State Highway Department until he retired. He was a member of Choptank Lodge No. 138 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Salisbury and Baltimore as well as the Kent and Sussex Scottish Rite club. He has been in failing health for several months when he passed away at his home on Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jeanette Green of Secretary, three daughters Brenda Bradley and her husband Dwight Bradley of Vienna, Mary Jane Willey and her husband Robert Willey of Vienna, Teresa Gadow and her husband Steve Gadow of Hurlock, one son Bobby "Bean" Green and his wife Sandy Green of Vienna, seven grandchildren Jennifer Bradley, Jason Bradley, Jessica Green, Ashley Willey, Jeffrey Gadow, Dalton Green and Landon Green and one great granddaughter Madison Horsman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Sybil Thornton, a grandson Cody Green and a great-granddaughter Sydney Bramble.
A funeral service will be held on Friday August 29 at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with Pastor Bob King officiating. Interment will follow at the East New Market Cemetery. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733 or to St. Luke Church, P.O. Box 94, Secretary, MD 21664. Active pallbearers will be Jason Bradley, Jerry Saunders, Billy Pressley, Donald "Richard" Lauck, Pete Green and Coleman Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Perry, Walter Collins, Donnie Thornton, Bill Pressley and Bud Green.
