C. Vernon Lowe

C. Vernon Lowe, 86, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born in Cambridge on February 13, 1938 and was a son of the late Nellie Lowe Smith.

Mr. Lowe attended schools in Cambridge. On February 23, 1968, he married the former Clara Gootee who passed away on September 5, 2005. Mr. Lowe had worked with Luthy Farms for many years. Later he managed a gravel business in Trappe. He was a member of Bucktown United Methodist Church and a past member of the Dorchester County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by a half-sister Patricia Van Vorst of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides his mother and his wife, Mr. Lowe is preceded in death by five half-brothers Wallace, Daniel, Steve, Douglas and Larry Willey. 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11 AM at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. with Rev. Shelley McCollister officiating. Interment will follow at Bucktown Churchyard.
