Carey B. Mills, 34, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. She was born in Cambridge on November 8, 1983 and was a daughter of Barbara Moore Mills Neighoff and the late Thomas Meade Mills.
She graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 2001. Carey worked at the Dorchester County Detention Center, where she was an EMT and a CNT. She loved her cats, playing pool, arts and crafts, enjoyed watching movies and riding horses. Carey was a member of Church Creek Volunteer Fire Company where she was an ambulance Captain, Linkwood Volunteer Fire Company, and St. Johns United Methodist Church in Golden Hill.
Carey is survived by mother Barbara Mills Neighoff and husband Ted of Vienna, four sisters Karen Oberender of Bishops Head, Mary Shea Mills of Golden Hill, Monica Neighoff Wroten of Cambridge and Renee Neighoff Somers of Easton, a brother TW Nieghoff of Stevensville, and several nieces, nephews and many cousins. Carey is preceded in death by her father Thomas Meade Mills.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 2 pm at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Golden Hill. Interment will follow at the churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
