Carl E. "Bucky" Jackson

Carl E. "Bucky" Jackson of Cambridge passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011. He was 68. He was born in Cambridge on September 5, 1943 and was a son of the late Harry and Marian Simpson Jackson.

Mr. Jackson was raised in the East New Market area and graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1961. Mr. Jackson went to work for GKD, Inc. in 2000 in the maintenance department and retired in February of 2011. He loved rabbit hunting and his beagle dogs. Mr. Jackson also loved his garden.

He is survived by his wife the former Barbara Ann Fitzhugh to whom he was married on October 1, 1987, two daughters Wendy Hughes and Sherri Swann, two sons Bucky Jackson, Jr. and Delmas Davidson all of Cambridge, nine grandchildren, mother in law Barbara Mae Fitzhugh and a brother in law Donald W. Fitzhugh both of Cambridge, sisters Anita Hubbard of Cambridge, Judy Breazile of Oregon, Virginia Lynch of Delaware, Lucy Hagadorn of Delaware, Betsy Schwartz of Delaware, brothers Paul Jackson of Reliance, Donald Jackson of Cassons Neck and Jimmy Jackson of New Jersey, a special hunting friend Chad Smith and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Jackson is preceded in death by a sister Shirley Borlaug and a brother Andrew "Andy" Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Chad Smith, Logan Fitzhugh, Greg Webster, Jeff Beasley, Ottie Dotson and Ken Lord. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Fitzhugh and Ricky Hughes.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. David L. Kreek officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dorchester County Humane Society, P.O. Box 132, Cambridge, MD 21613.
