Carl H. Johnson

Carl H. Johnson, 86, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Caroline County on September 20, 1931 and was a son of the late Carl Tilghman Johnson and Gula Washington Allen Johnson.

Mr. Johnson worked at DuPont and various odd jobs. He also owned his own can good store, a bar and restaurant and Mr. Johnson also had CJ Modern Gas Company. Mr. Johnson was married to the former Sylvia Paul. He enjoyed working in the yard, wood burning, playing cards and loved animals.

He is survived by his wife Sylvia Ann Johnson of Cambridge, his children Harold Willard Johnson and wife June of New Jersey, Beverly Diane Johnson Walker of Seaford, Carl Allen Johnson of Bridgeville, Steven Mark Johnson of Texas, Kenneth Scott Johnson of Fort Walton, FL, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, 2 dogs that he loved like children Jody and Buffy, a stepson Randy Travers and wife Denise of Trappe, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by a son Danny Ray Johnson, a brother Willard James Johnson, three sisters Ruth Johnson Thumser, Lillian Johnson Hubbard and Madge Johnson Allen.

At Mr. Johnson request there will be no services. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
