Carla Lynn Wingfield

Carla L. Wingfield, 33, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017. She was born in Dorchester County on August 10, 1983 and was a daughter of Patricia Wingfield Collins.
Carla graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 2001. She was a stay at home mother. Carla enjoyed listening to music, walking and most of all, she loved her children.
She is survived by her three children Miley Wingfield, Jason Wingfield and Paul John Layfield, her mother Patricia Collins and stepfather Bunky Collins of Taylors Island, brother Joshua Wingfield of Hurlock, sister Tyler Ellis of Taylors Island, maternal grandmother Pearl Wingfield of Cambridge, her fiance Michael Layfield and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Carla was preceded in death by a son Alexander James McKnight, and her maternal grandfather Carlton Wingfield.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hubbard, Joshua Wingfield, Buddy Willey, Crystal Willey, Jeremy Knode, Michael Layfield, Lucas Condon and Bruce Owens.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
