Carl W. Willey, Jr., 81, of Wingate passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Chesapeake Woods Center. He was born in Cambridge on January 26, 1940 and was a son of the late Carl W. Willey, Sr. and Ida Mae Insley Willey.
Mr. Willey attended schools in Cambridge. On December 28, 1974, he married the former Barbara Abbott. He worked at Meredith and Meredith Crab House for many years. Mr. Willey enjoyed fishing and crabbing. He was a member of Wingate United Methodist Church, Lakes-Straits Volunteer Fire Company with 43 years of service, serving as chaplain and president.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Willey of Wingate, a daughter Carla Long of Federalsburg, sisters in law Linda Willey of Madison and June Willey of Cambridge and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Willey is preceded in death by a son Robbie Willey and two brothers Leroy Willey and David Willey.
Pallbearers will be Dickie Dawson, Ryan Elzey, Matthew Elzey, Scott Wilson, Michael Tall, and Johnny Holotik. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Dagostino, and Bruce Murphy.
A walk through visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 11 am to 12 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge followed by a graveside service at 12:30 at Brick Churchyard in Taylors Island with Rev. Michael LaClair officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Lakes-Straits Volunteer Fire Company, 2103 Farm Creek Road, Wingate, MD 21675. Face mask and social distancing is required.
