Carolyn S. Monroe, 83, of Olney, MD passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Montgomery General Hospital. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on June 26, 1927, to Henry James Scheffenacker and Virginia Lee Noble. A Sister of Jane N. Scheffenacker of Burlington, NJ, beloved mother of Virginia C. Ives of Sykesville, MD, Thomas K. Ives, Jr. of Springfield, VA, James E. Monroe of Bonn, Germany, and William A. Monroe of Brookeville, MD; grandmother of Jacqueline C., Andrew W., and Harrison L. Monroe of Brookeville, MD. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Cambridge. Interment will follow at Christ Churchyard. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The American Heart Association or a charity of your choice in Carolyn's name would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
