Carolyn Ruth Willey

Carolyn R. Willey, 70, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at her home. She was born in Cambridge on March 23, 1945 to the late Ralph Willey and Eileen Hurley Linthicum.

Mrs. Willey graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1963. For many years she worked as a lunch lady for many schools in Dorchester County including Sandy Hill, Maces Lane, Cambridge South Dorchester High School and Maple Elementary just to name a few. Later in life she began working at the Dorchester County Health Department in Environmental Health. Carolyn enjoyed crafts, gardening and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son John Young and wife Leeanne of Cambridge, four grandchildren Ashley Young, John Young, Jr., Brooke Miller and Ian Young, two great grandchildren Evan Lednum and Chloe Miller, nephews Ralph Whitten, Wayne Foxwell, Jr., John Foxwell, David Foxwell, Timmy Foxwell, Bryan Stokes, Eddie Stokes and a special nephew Tommy Foxwell, nieces Ruthanna Lucas, Renee Adkins, and Teresa Reed and many great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her step father John Linthicum she is preceded in death by three sisters Patsy Phillips, Cleo Foxwell and Joyce Stokes, and two nephews Robert Whitten and Robbie Stokes.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Foxwell, Tommy Foxwell, Jr., Tommy Miller, Bryan Stokes, Eddie Stokes and Patrick Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be John Young, Jr. and Ian Young.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Eastern Shore Office, P.O.
