Catherine A. Parker

Catherine A. Parker, 87, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at her home. She was born in Madison, MD on May 19, 1937 and was a daughter of the late J. Richard Insley and Mary Fitzhugh Insley.

 Mrs. Parker graduated from Cambridge High School. On March 1, 1957, she was married W. Allan Parker who passed away on October 20, 2010. Mrs. Parker was a homemaker. She enjoyed writing poetry, reading, cooking and caring for her family. Mrs. Parker attended Milton Methodist Church and Cambridge Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by one daughter Cheryl Workman of Virginia Beach, VA, a son Richard A. Parker and his wife Lori of Cambridge, two granddaughters Deanna Parker and Stephanie Morris, two grandsons Patrick Parker and Nathan Workman, three great granddaughters, Katherine Davis, Nicole Parker, and Tara Parker and three great grandsons, Joey Morris, Noah Morris, Kaden Morris, a sister Brenda Parks, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Parker is preceded in death by a son Gary Parker, two sisters Joan Lewis and Carolyn Willey and a brother J. Richard Insley, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 1pm at Old Trinity Churchyard with her son Richard Parker officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Cambridge Wesleyan Church or to Milton Methodist Church. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
