Charlene S. (Paden) Wallace

Charlene Starr Wallace 97 January 2, 2022 at Wolcott Connecticut July 24, 1924 at Drumright, Oklahoma Daughter of Teetsey Ora Bigby and Charles Benjamin Paden, widow of Benjamin Ross Wallace Sr., mother of the late Benjamin Ross Wallace Jr., Anthony Ross Wallace 2nd, Deborah Elizabeth Platt, Charles Stephen Wallace and their spouses Nichola K. Wallace, Brian Platt, and Rachael Wallace. Grandmother of Brian Benjamin Platt, Caroline Elizabeth Platt, Alexandra Toby Wallace, Benjamin Charles Wallace, Nicholas Ross Wallace, and Erin Taylor Wallace.

Charlene was an “old settler” Cherokee Nation citizen “Starr baby” and left her studies at the University of Oklahoma in 1944 to work in the Experimental department of the Glenn L. Martin plant in Baltimore, Maryland where she met and married Benjamin Wallace. She managed Wallace Aviation of Hollybrook Airport Delaware and raised her children in Woodlawn Maryland. A lifelong scholar, she amassed a library of hundreds of books and composed three volumes of poetry.

Funeral Service 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Madison United Methodist Church, Joppa Chapel at 1213 Old Madison Road. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard in Church Creek. Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
