Charles Lee Hollins

Charles Lee Hollins, 75 of Cambridge, passed away at the Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury on Friday, November 20, 2009. He was born at Beckley, West Virginia on November 11, 1934, and was a son of the late Paris Monroe and Eva Hubbard Hollins.

He attended schools in West Virginia. On May 5, 1954 he was married to the former Mary Tyler. He operated Bon Ton Foods in Brentwood, MD for 35 years. He had owned a number of horses and had a knack for picking out show horses and quarter horses. He had made his home in the Cambridge area for the past 10 years. Mr. Hollins was a great family man and enjoyed spending time with his family. He had been in failing health for the past two years and had been a patient at Coastal Hospice at the Lake for the past four days where he passed away on Friday morning.

Survivors include his wife Mary E. Hollins of Cambridge, three daughters Donna S. Conte and her husband Anthony Conte of Lothian, MD, Jo Anne Albritton of Crofton, Lisa F. Hollins of Cambridge, three sons David A. Brinsfield and his wife Mary Jo Brinsfield of Salisbury, Paris Lee Hollins and his wife Deborah Hollins of Broomes Island, MD Charles Rand Hollins and his wife Penni Hollins of Salisbury, 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Freida McCall of Mullins, West Virginia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. Pallbearers will be Randy Hollins, Taylor Hollins, Paris Hollins, Anthony Conte, Joseph C. Conte, Dominic Conte, Joseph A. Conte, John W. Albritton, Daves Brinsfield and John Brinsfield.
