Charles G. Linthicum, 79, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Chesapeake Woods Center. He was born in Cambridge on March 8, 1933 and was a son of the late Thomas G. and Agnes Tyler Linthicum.
Mr. Linthicum attended schools in Church Creek. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 until 1964 and was stationed in Germany. On December 20, 1975 he married the former Catherine Moore who passed away on July 19, 1991. Mr. Linthicum had worked for B.J. Linthicum & Sons, Connelly Containers and was also a waterman.
He is survived by two sisters Shirley Gilliard of East New Market and Suzanne Marsh of Chesapeake, VA, a stepdaughter Elaine Pohl of Cambridge, a step son Francis Dean, Jr. and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Linthicum is preceded in death by brothers and sisters Thomas E. Linthicum, Thomas B. Linthicum, William W. Linthicum, Frances E. Pasko, Pearl L. Shenton and Mary G. Parks.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery Chapel with Rev. William Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
