Charles W. Smith

Charles W. Smith, 73, of Seaford, DE passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in Fishing Creek, MD.  He was born in Thomasville, GA on January 14, 1946 to the late Charles Russell Smith and Flay Elizabeth Miller Smith.

Mr. Smith worked for many years as a Commercial Fisherman.  He also ran his own company, Bayside Seafood, in Laurel for 26 years.  He was fiercely independent and very smart.  He could fix just about anything.  Mr. Smith was an avid fisherman, and he loved to golf.  He enjoyed traveling, and was especially fond of his trip to Nova Scotia where he enjoyed whale watching.  Mr. Smith was loved by his family, friends, and customers alike.  He was past president and a founding member of the Organized Fishermen of Florida.

Mr. Smith is survived by his partner of 32 years Mary Rizk, his children Cynthia Barnes, Charles R. Smith, Edwin J. Smith, and Majida Rizk, grandchildren Katherine McGreary, Nicholas Simon, Isabelle Smith, Cheyenne Dumond, Hadley, Macy, and Abigail Manista, great grandchildren James Jr., Michael, Matthew, and Justin McGreary, and his sister in law Donna Morris.  He is also survived by his special fur babies Maya Bear, Sissy, and Annie.  Besides his parents, Mr. Smith is preceded in death by siblings Edwin J. Morris and Saville Torre, as well as a grandson Nathanial Simon.
