Charles "Chick" Thomas Woodland

Charles “Chick” Thomas Woodland, 73, of Crocheron passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at UMSMC at Easton with his family by his side. He was born in Cambridge on November 1, 1942 and was a son of the late Hallie and Winnie Bramble Woodland.

He attended schools in Crocheron. At a young age, Chick started working on the water and for the past 42 years, he was shedding soft crabs. In 1994, he and his nephew Chris, began pound netting. He enjoyed building Martin houses, making crab and eel pots, gardening, going to the dock and sitting, had ducks and geese, helped build his boat and home, and enjoyed being with his grandchildren and nephew.

He is survived by his wife Faye Woodland of Crocheron, two daughters Lisa Foxwell of Cambridge and Tina Woodland-Weber and husband Eddie Weber, Jr. of Cambridge, four grandchildren Danielle Renee Weber and companion John Edward Lane, Jr., Zachary Len Foxwell, Jonathan Thomas "JT" Weber, and Savannah Grace Weber, a sister Joyce Ann Jones of Crocheron, and a nephew Chris Jones of Woolford. Besides his parents, Mr. Woodland is preceded in death by a nephew James Brian Jones.

Pallbearers will be JT Weber, Zac Foxwell, Chris Jones, Eddie Weber, John Lane, Donnie Simmons, Tommy Collins, and Gene Harper.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Jack Diehl officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
