Charlotte R. (Hubbard) Wheatley

Charlotte R. Wheatley, 86, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at her home. She was born in Cambridge on July 9, 1931 and was a daughter of the late James Hubbard and Edith Marshall Hubbard.

She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1948. On November 18, 1950, she married Gordon H. Wheatley, who passed away on September 27, 2005. Mrs. Wheatley worked and retired from the Dorchester County Board of Education. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading and volunteering at the Robin Hood Shop for many years. Mrs. Wheatley was a member of Spedden United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children Rickey Wheatley and wife Terry, David Wheatley and wife Marybeth, Barbara Wheatley, and Michael Wheatley and wife Olga all of Cambridge, nine grandchildren Eric Wheatley and wife Megan, Adam Wheatley, BJ Wheatley and wife Samantha, Kyle Wheatley and wife Leigh and Devin Wheatley and companion Meghan Hailey, Jaime Foxwell and Allyson Wheatley and fiancée Ryan Adkins, Raina Lucas and husband Brian, and Krista Wheatley and one more on the way. She is also survived by six great grandchildren Natalie, Landon, Blake and Greyson Wheatley, Madison and Abigail Foxwell, a sister Jeanette Condon of Cambridge, a cousin Marie Gray of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Wheatley is preceded in death by a brother Glen Hubbard, a sister in law Joyce Hubbard and niece Terri Hubbard.

Pallbearers will be her five grandsons Eric Wheatley, Adam Wheatley, BJ Wheatley, Kyle Wheatley, Devin Wheatley and a godson Chris Condon.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Tim Poly officiating. Interment will follow at Spedden Seward Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
