Charlotte "Skippy" Almira (Hughes) Wheatley

Charlotte A. “Skippy” Wheatley, 84, of Hurlock passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Cambridge on June 24, 1932 and was a daughter of the late Rebecca Phillips.
Skippy attended schools in Cambridge. On July 28, 1951, she married William R. Wheatley, who passed away on April 8, 2015. Skippy was a homemaker. She was a member of Unity Washington United Methodist Church in Hurlock.
She is survived by a sister Alice Ann Bennett of Hurlock, two nieces Nancy Smith and husband Tink of Hurlock, Melissa Bennett of Hurlock, and a nephew Norris Bennett of Hurlock. Besides her mother and her husband, Mrs. Wheatley was preceded in death by her children Michael and Charlotte Wheatley.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 10 am at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Kevin Gillespie officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
