Clara C. Hurley

Clara C. Hurley, 85 of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Bishops Head on August 2, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Merritt S. and Nancy Lewis Moore.
Mrs. Hurley attended schools in Bishops Head and Crapo. On July 3, 1964 she married John R. Hurley. He passed away on August 26, 2011. In 1959, she graduated from the Eastern Shore State Hospital and received her LPN. She had worked for Dr. McCarter and retired in 2002. She was a member of the Cambridge Yacht Club.
Mrs. Hurley is survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband John R. Hurley, three brothers and three sisters James Moore, Elijah Moore, Ella Bramble, Hazel Morris, A. Smith Moore and Lelia Jones.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dorchester County Humane Society, P.O. Box 132, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
