Clara Emma (Malkus) Schnoor

August 24, 1915 — May 13, 2016

Clara Emma Malkus Schnoor,  100, of Easton  passed away on  May 13, 2016.  She was born in Cambridge on August 24, 1915, and was a daughter of the late George J. and Stella Fischer Malkus.

Mrs. Schnoor attended schools in Dorchester County. On August 1, 1942, she married Richard Schnoor, who passed away on February 15, 1978. As a child, she worked with her father on their family farm, and, later Mrs. Schnoor worked beside her husband on the Big Dundee Farm. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, and crocheting.  She also enjoyed cooking and large family gatherings.  Mrs. Schnoor was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and the Maryland Farm Bureau.

She is survived by four children:  R. George Schnoor (Diana Hurd) of Ridgley; Margaret Schnoor and husband Lowell Thompson of Stevensville; Elaine Hobbs and husband Hueston of Landrum, SC; and Martin P. Schnoor of Easton; a granddaughter, Cynthia Jones and husband Jerry of Cambridge, a great grandson Thomas Paul Jones; two sisters Irene Taylor of Easton and Kathryn Cole of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Schnoor is preceded in death by a son, Paul Schnoor, and two brothers, Phillip P. Malkus and George C. Malkus.

The family wants to extend a fond thank you to Judith McDonald who, through her attentive care, allowed Mrs. Schnoor to live out her final years at her beloved Big Dundee Farm.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Stine, Robert Garrett, Paul Garrett, Matthew Priddy, Mark Connolly, and Curt Connolly.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 White Hall Road, Cambridge, Md. with family receiving friends from Noon to 2 p.m. and the service immediately following with Pastor Dale Krotee officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
