Clara Brice Stokes

Clara Brice Stokes, 74, of Centreville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 29, 2012. She was born in Crapo on July 4, 1938 to the late Major and Theodosia L. Pritchett Bradford. Mrs. Stokes grew up in Toddville. She was married to Donald O. Jones, Sr. by whom there were three children. She then married Ernie Wayne Stokes, who passed away on May 4, 1982. She was a supervisor at Airpax for over 40 years. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends were her world. She enjoyed dancing, playing golf, bowling, softball, canasta and dominoes. She attended Queen Anne-Hillsboro United Methodist Church until her health wouldn't allow her. She had been living in Centreville with her daughter Donna J. Cecil and son in law Phil for the past 6 years.

She is survived by a son Donald O. Jones, Jr. and wife Randi of Cambridge, two daughters Donna J. Cecil and husband Phil of Centreville and Clara Ann Brewer and husband Bill of Still Pond, grandchildren Billie Jo Heister and husband Jim, Jessica Lewis and husband Jed, Ryan Burton (Dottie), Tony Cecil (Stacey), Matt Brewer, Tom Brewer, Kara Ann Jones (Anthony), Ashley Quicke and husband Matt, and Megan Sinclair (Dean), great grandchildren Gabe Heister, Sam Heister, Naomi Brice Lewis, James Lewis, Blake Cecil, Addison Hughes, Morgen Quicke, Mason Quicke, Ryann Quicke, and Bryden VanSchaik along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Stokes is preceded in death by three sisters Patsy Bradford, Margaret Greer, Dorthea Pritchett, one brother Neily Bradford and two half brothers Kenneth Bradford and Ray Bradford.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Burton, Matt Brewer, Tom Brewer, Tony Cecil, Jed Lewis, and Matt Quicke.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, with Rev. George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Goodwill Fire Company, 212 Broadway, Centreville, MD 21617 Attn.
