Crawford W. Windsor, Sr., 88, of Crocheron passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He was born on November 29, 1925 in Wingate and was a son of the late Austin Crawford Windsor and Eulalia Murphy Windsor.
Crawford attended schools in Crocheron. On December 8, 1945, he married the former Mary Lou Moore. Crawford had worked on the water his entire life. He enjoyed hunting and watching the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Windsor of Crocheron, children Crawford Windsor, Jr. of Stevensville, Ann Fitzhugh and husband Julian of Cambridge, Jimmy Windsor and wife Chris of Woolford, Cathy Mitchell and companion Jay Bradshaw of Cambridge, and Steven Windsor and wife Renee of Vienna, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two brothers A. Wayne Windsor and wife Sally of Crapo and L. Vaughn Windsor and wife Ann Marie of Toddville and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Crawford is preceded in death by two brothers A. Eugene Windsor and Calvin Windsor, a granddaughter Jamie Lynn Ellis and a sister Cleta Pritchett who passed away on June 25, 2014.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor George W. Wheatley, Jr. and Rev. Michael LaClair officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dorchester Seafood Harvester's Inc., 5316 Spring Drive, Cambridge, MD 21613 .
