C. Ray Pritchett, Jr.

C. Ray Pritchett, Jr., 85, of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born in Bishops Head on December 7, 1932 and was a son of the late Carlton R. Pritchett, Sr. and Lois Murphy Pritchett.

Ray graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Germany. On October 14, 1995, he married the former Janice Nickerson. Ray worked for Monumental Insurance Company for 39 years. He enjoyed walking, and his cat Blossom. He was a member of American Legion Post 91 and the Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW.

Ray is survived by his wife Janice Pritchett of Salisbury, stepchildren from a previous marriage Kathy Lutz and husband Duane of Delmar, MD, George Richard Doty and wife Marty of Denton, Amy Ellis and husband Robin of Florida, Jana Wroten and husband Ricky of Cambridge, Eric Doty of Cambridge and Jason Doty and wife Penny of Cambridge, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a niece and two nephews, a sister Kaye Jones of Alexandria, VA, and a sister in law Shirley Pritchett of Cambridge. Besides his parents, Mr. Pritchett is preceded in death by a brother Cy Pritchett.

Pallbearers will be George Richard Doty, Eric Doty, Jason Doty, Duane Lutz, Richard Lutz and Jonathan Lutz. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Pritchett, Greg Jones, Douglas Todd, and Paul Tyler.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Jay Hurley officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery.
