He attended schools at Wingate. Curtis had worked on the water for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and being on the water and had been in failing health for the past two years and was taken to Dorchester General Hospital on Monday where he passed away.
Survivors include two sisters Peggy Stewart of Seaford and Dorothy Parks and her husband Andrew Parks of Princess Anne, one brother Gene D. Parks and his wife Barbara Ann Parks of Hurlock and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend and caregiver Linda Dawson and her family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Jean Parks and a brother Asbury Parks.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Pallbearers will be Dickie Dawson, Keith Christopher, Gene D. Parks, Jr., Gene D. Parks III, Dean Lockard and Ted Robinson.
