Daniel L. "Danny" Shorter

Daniel L. “Danny” Shorter, 76, of Easton passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on November 19, 1947 and was a son of the late Howard Shorter, Jr. and Lorraine Burton Short.

He graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1965 and University of Maryland College Park class of 1969. On October 3, 2009 he married the former Gail McWilliams. Mr. Shorter was a life member of the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Dorchester County Fireman's Association Hall of Fame. 

He is survived by his wife Gail Shorter of Easton, a son Lee Shorter and wife Bobbi of Tomball, Texas, two grandchildren Sabre Shorter and Logan Shorter, a brother Luther Shorter and wife Sharon of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, and his first wife, Mr. Shorter is preceded in death by two brothers Howard Shorter III and Ricky A. Shorter.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Scott Conn officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
