Darcy Parella, 93, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2012 at Chesapeake Woods Center. He was born in Cambridge on July 18, 1918 to the late Tony and Gertrude Elzey Parella.
Mr. Parella attended Cambridge schools. When he was growing up he worked at a canning factory with his father. Later he owned and operated his own fleet of trucks along with the local Cambridge Tastee Freez. He enjoyed driving trucks and was a car buff.
He is survived by his sister Betty Bradley of Hammonton, NJ, two daughters Jean Shaw and husband Ken of Tucson, AZ and Patsy McWilliams and husband Gordon of Cambridge, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Parella was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Parella and a son Darcy Parella, Jr.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
