Darlene Lois (Asplen) Windsor

Darlene L. Windsor, 70, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at her home. She was born in Baltimore on September 11, 1946 and was a daughter of the late William C. and Lillian Brown Asplen.

Ms. Windsor graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1964. She worked at University of Maryland Horns Point and retired with 32 years of service. Ms. Windsor enjoyed crocheting, bingo, gardening and being with her family and friends and especially her special friends Barbara, Beulah and Patsy. She was a member of the American Legion Post 91, a past member of Wingate United Methodist Church and Lakes and Straits Volunteer Fire Company.

She is survived by three stepchildren Danny Windsor of Hudson, Terry Wheeler of Cambridge and Betsy J. Cordrey and husband Lee of Seaford, DE,  six grandchildren Macey, Justin, Heidi, Holly, Heather and Jennifer and several great grandchildren, two brothers Raymond Asplen and wife Sue of Woolford and Michael W. Asplen and wife Mary of Sharptown and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Justin Cordrey, Trey Abey, Mike Gambrill, Brian Harrington, Robert Lowe and Gordy Dawson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
