David W. Hanson, Sr

David W. Hanson, Sr., 57 of East New Market passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013 at his home. He was born in Easton on April 15, 1956 and was a son of the late George W. Hanson, Jr. and Barbara Tallman Hanson.

David graduated from North Dorchester High School class of 1974. He was employed with Western Printing until they closed and later he was employed at Craig's Drug Store at the time of his passing. David enjoyed Civil War reinactment, wood working, gardening and deer hunting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge and to the 2nd Maryland Infantry, CO. H, 1st Legion, Provisional Army of the Confederate States.

He is survived by his son David W. Hanson, Jr. of Rising Sun, MD, two daughters Heather L. Hanson of Easton, Tammy Wroten of Cambridge, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, a brother Charles W. Hanson and wife Charlotte of Cambridge, a niece Christie E. Wheatley of Cambridge, his fiancee Helen Sapp of Florida and several other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Steve Trice officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
