David J. "Murph" Murphy, 64 of Federalsburg passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge. He was born at Easton on February 3, 1945 and was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Marshall Murphy.
Mr. Murphy attended schools in Talbot County. He served in the U.S. Army with the rank of Sergeant during the Vietnam War and received his honorable discharge in 1968. He had worked for Easton Whole Sale, Easton Utilities and later was a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, horses, going to the rodeo and pool playing. He was a member of Easton Post 5118 VFW and Federalsburg Post 5246 VFW.
He is survived by a daughter Dawn Robinson Michaels and husband Kevin of Easton, a grandson Justin Robinson, a brother Thomas Murphy of Arizona, a cousin and two nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
