David H. Wilde, Sr., 64, of Denton passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at UMSMC at Easton. He was born on January 17, 1950 in Annapolis and was a son of the late Delmar and Irene Cornell Wilde.
David graduated from Annapolis High School. He was a shop foreman at Oxford Boatyard. David enjoyed riding on his Harley Davidson, hunting, his church, loved the outdoors and his family. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association where he served as vice president. David was also a member of Bounds United Methodist Church where he served as a lay speaker and a Sunday School teacher.
He is survived by his wife Lana D. Wilde of Denton, three children from a previous marriage David Wilde, Jr. of Annapolis, Kim Wilde-Downes and husband Jay of Ridgely and Chris Wilde and wife Lauren of Grasonville, two grandchildren Nadia Wilde and Farrah Wilde, a brother Wesley Wilde of Annapolis and a sister Janice Dillard and husband Jack of Elkton, two nieces and two nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Wilde, Jr., Chris Wilde, Ralph Kirby, Jay Downes, Anthony Hughes and Clifton Dize. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Sumner, Josh Fitzhugh and Bob Vogel.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Gary Crouch officiating. Interment will follow at Sandy Island Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church, c/o Doris Lewis, 3347 Golden Hill Rd., Church Creek, MD 21622.
