Dawson Christopher Betts, 23, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 in Denver, Colorado. He was born in Easton on August 16, 2001 and was a son of Scott C. and Amy Betts.
He graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School Class of 2019. Dawson possessed an incredible work ethic from an early age and flourished as an entrepreneur as an adult. He enjoyed his time working on yachts and traveling which then led him into property management. Dawson was also a skilled carpenter helping his father over the years. He enjoyed shopping, reading, going to concerts, and traveling. He was a member of AA and just received his two months chip for his dedication and progress, something he was incredibly proud of.
Dawson’s life though brief; was a testament to the power of a soul that shines far beyond his years. His presence lit up every room he entered, and his infectious smile and warm hugs were a gift given freely, leaving a mark on all who encountered him.
A lover of the arts, Dawson immersed himself in music, books and the joys of travel, eager to explore the world around him. His entrepreneurial spirit drove him to constantly seek the next challenge whether in sports, his various jobs, or his many “Projects” Dawson approached everything with passion. He had an eye for the details, the little things that made an experience or endeavor special and was always asking “What’s next?”- always on the lookout for his next adventure. His mantra, Carpe diem, was not just words to him but away of living fully with curiosity. Though his time here may have been short, Dawson’s impact will echo as a reminder of the depth and beauty of a life fully lived.
Dawson is survived by his parents Scott and Amy Betts of East New Market, his siblings Dylan Hayden and wife Chelsie and their children Oaklynn and Beau of Rhodesdale, Darian Betts of East New Market, Bentley Henry of East New Market, maternal grandparents Joey Henry of East New Market and Debbie Lewis of Federalsburg, paternal grandmother Dawn Moore of Cambridge. He is preceded in death by his great grandmothers Naomi "BB' Moore and Ellen Hanlin.
