Delmas Lance Dean, Jr., 70, of Chester, MD, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on April 21, 1947 to Martha Ann Parks Dean and the late Delmas Lance Dean, Sr.
Lance, as he was known by his friends and family, owned and operating Dean’s Seafood Company for many years. He enjoyed crabbing and building duck blinds with his friends. He also enjoyed collecting guns, and was a constable for the Wicomico County Sherriff’s department many years ago. He loved anything automotive and mechanical, and would like teaching his grandkids a little bit of everything. He would do anything for anyone, and was always helping his friends out. On November 14, 2017, he married the former Rhonda Bilbrough.
Lance is survived by his wife Rhonda of Chester, 3 sons James Dean and fiancé Sandy Vella of Myrtle Beach, SC, Brian Dean and wife Lisa of Ellicott City, John Dean and wife Sharon of Hurlock, step Daughter Diana Bilbrough of Milford, DE, step son Lewis Bilbrough of Snow Hill, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his mother Martha Dean of Chester, and a special dog Joey. He is preceded in death by his father Delmas Lance Dean, Sr., and a step daughter Dawn Bilbrough.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home, PA in Cambridge with Pastor Jack Diehl officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
