Dennis Roe, 67, of Church Creek passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at his home with his loving family beside him. He was born in Cambridge on July 31, 1948 and was a son of the late Alcade P. and Nelda Wingate Roe.
Dennis graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1966. Dennis owned and operated Dennis Roe and Son’s Frame and Collison Center, retiring in 2006 and started a landscaping and design business. On April 11, 1992, he married the former Jackie Adler. He enjoyed hunting, skeet shooting, driving his Chevelle, and feeding the deer around his property. Dennis was a member and past president of the skeet club, and a member of Faith Baptist Fellowship.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Roe of Cambridge, two daughters Melande Roe and fiancee Damion Tull of Church Creek and Stephanie Roe Pritchard and husband Luke of St. Michaels, a son Michael Willey and wife Jen Willey of Cambridge, eight grandchildren Kelsey Jones, Karlie Jones, Jersey Kanarr, Hope Pritchard, Daniel Pritchard, Dylan Pritchard, Amarah Willey, and Samuel Wright, two sisters Donna Gootee and husband Tom of Golden Hill and Dorothy “Dottie” Dukes and husband Tim of Laurel, DE, mother in law Patricia Adler of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by his son Jason Roe.
Pallbearers will be Paige Linton, Tim Mitchell, Carl Huber, Jerry Van Curen, Shannon Slacum, and Logan Fitzhugh.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Open Bible Church, 1619 Race Street, Cambridge with Pastor Dave Stewart and Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
