Don R. "Dickie" Robbins, Sr

Don R. "Dickie" Robbins, Sr., 61, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. He was born in Cambridge on October 17, 1950 and was a son of the late Calvin Mace "Kelly" Robbins and Catherine Lenora Hurst Robbins.

Mr. Robbins graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1968 and attended and graduated from Delaware Valley College where he received his Bachelors Degree in Agronomy. On September 26, 1976 he married the former Debbie Jones. Mr. Robbins worked for the Maryland Department of Agriculture for 30 years. He also worked part time at Jones Implement and after he retired from the State of Maryland, he continued working for Jones Implement which is now called Atlantic Tractor in East New Market. He loved his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, crabbing and was an umpire for 20 years. He is survived by his wife Debbie J. Robbins of Cambridge, two children Don R. "Ritchie" Robbins, Jr. and wife Carrie of Chesterfield, VA and Amy Warfield and husband Richard of Delmar, MD, four grandchildren Hayley Robbins, Emily Robbins, Carter Warfield and Leah Warfield, a sister Donna R. Bramble of Woolford and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special dog Maggie. Besides his parent, Mr. Robbins is preceded in death by a brother in law Theodore "Teddy" Bramble.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 12 p.m. at the Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 White Hall Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 with Pastor Anne Swallow Gillis and Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. Interment will be private. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802 or to the Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 White Hall Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
