Donald James "D.J." Robbins, 26, formerly of Trappe passed away on September 22, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in Cambridge on December 31, 1987 to Woodrow F. and the late Dolores N. Robbins.
He graduated from Easton High School class of 2005. D.J. joined the United States Air Force in April of 2005. He attended basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas, after which he attended advanced technical school at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi and also in Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita, TX. D.J. was then stationed in RAF Lakenheath England for 3 years then was moved to Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada in February of 2009. He enjoyed music, camping, collecting firearms, working with computers, reading, attending boxing matches and he was known as a big practical joker.
D.J. is survived by his father Woodrow F. Robbins of Trappe, a brother Corbett L. Robbins of Trappe, maternal grandparents Donald L. and Connie B. Nickerson, two aunts Anna Willey and Cindy Jones, two uncles Mike Willey and Paul Jones and a special cousin Jeff Robbins and a great aunt Alma Creighton. Besides his mother, he is preceded in death by a sister Sophia A. Robbins and his paternal grandparents Corbett and Nancy Robbins, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
